Ultimate Turbo Oil Drain Kit Installation

Edited

Tips:

  • The billet plate gets mounted to the engine block first, using fast drying silicone as sealant.

    • You can use a normal GM fuel pump plate gasket if desired

    • We prefer Permatex "the right stuff" in this service/repair environment

  • Next, lubricate both O-rings of the drain tube and firmly insert it into the billet drain back plate.

    • Support the stainless tube with your hands while pushing and twisting to get it fully seated

      • It is fully seated when both O-rings are not visible, however, it's not vital to get the upper ring totally seated as it's just the dust cover

  • You May need to leave your turbocharger mounting flange bolts loose and slightly re-clock your turbo if you have any issues with the tube alignment to the turbo.

    • We make these in a jig with a stock turbo. If your alignment is different, then you'll have to adjust slightly to get the correct fitment and not force the tube to fit where it doesn't want to go

    • Connecting the tube to the turbo is the LAST step in the installation for this reason

      • You can also carefully re-bend the tube if needed, but do not put undue stress where it goes into the billet drain back plate or it will crack/break

    • If the tube tries to pull itself up when you are bolting it to the turbo, then your clocking or fore/aft alignment of the turbo are most likely wrong.
