Super 54 to Stock Plenum

Edited

While we always recommend our high flow plenum upgrade be paired with our turbos, some owners choose to use the stock plenum with an upgraded turbo. If you want to do that, you'll have to cut and trim your plenum to fit.

It's best to make 2 cuts. A portable band saw or similar will make quick work of these cuts.

Prerequisite : Super 54 Turbocharger : )

Step 1 : Trim the stock plenum

Cut 1

Make the stock plenum fit the turbo WITHOUT the v-band adapter installed (we'll explain that adapter in a later step.

In this photo, you can see how trimming ~ 1 inch off the stock plenum will allow it to fit with the Super 54 turbo

Cut 2

Now, hold the v-band adapter up to the turbo and mark your plenum for the 2nd cut, further back.

You only need 1/4 to 1/2" clearance between the v-band adapter and the edge of the plenum. This will leave plenty of room for the silicone coupling to grip once clamped on.

Step 2 : Proper Final Alignment

Here's an example, again with a high flow plenum, of your final alignment BEFORE you do the final installation with the silicone coupling and clamps.

V-Band Adapter

(You'll need our compressor outlet v-band adapter to 2.5" coupling adapter for this job)
